It’s super important to stay active even during holidays as it’s good for your physical health as well as for your mental and emotional health. Here are just a few activities to do with your family during holidays.

Every child is different hence we encourage you to start with noticing what they like most and plan accordingly. Here, we’ll give you some ideas and remember that all starts from what your family needs the most 🙂

What we do in-house 🙂

At Axé Boom Boom we train Capoeira & drum Djembe, and encourage all people to try these two activities so:
– To try Capoeira join our classes or check Capoeira Library by Professor Minhoquinho from our Group Capoeira TUCUM.
– For Djembe drumming go and check out Grześ’s Drumming Hands and to make noise and practice your capoeira drumming skills use a table or create your very own drum.

More great ideas

  • Let’s start with going for a walk and visit local park or tourist attractions near you. Check the local tourists information centre for local attraction while on holidays.
  • Is it raining outside? We got you covered! Use storytelling to encourage your children to move. Read any story about animals and ask your children to move around pretending they are the animals.
  • Go birdwatching, visit RSPB website for some incredible ideas to learn in nature.

And even more great ideas 🙂

  • Do some gardening, Grove Gardening group are meeting every Saturday in Harrison Park so join them and plant these seeds for growth.
  • Why not having a picnic in the park and play games, it’s getting warmer so you can enjoy local parks way more, maybe Capoeira Au and Bananeira session followed by yummy munch?!
  • And lastly, check the 50 ways to experience outdoors in Edinburgh, there are so many ideas, many of which you can take on your holidays!

There are way more activities out there but we decided to give you a few only so you can try them one by one. We also noticed that if we have too much to choose from then we experience decision paralysis, a situation when there is too much choice and we overthink what to choose which leads us to not being able to decide at all. With that leave the last idea for last 🙂
